CPR & First Aid

You can approach life’s accidents and emergencies—big and small—with confidence and calm when you take the WEST SUBURBAN YMCA’s CPR and First Aid Courses. From burns and scrapes to illness and injury to how to operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) , these hands-on classes will prepare you to handle any emergency. 

Adult & Child CPR/AED Certification & Recertification - This National Safety Council training teaches you to perform lifesaving skills on adults and children, such as CPR, Abdominal thrusts and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Certification is valid for two years.

  • Pediatric CPR/AED & First Aid Certification - In this combination class, the National Safety Council training teaches and certifies you in CPR and First Aid for pediatrics (child and infant). Certification is valid for two years.

  • Health Care Provider CPR/AED Certification & Recertification - This American Heart Association training is a CPR/AED certification course geared for healthcare providers: EMT personnel, physical trainers, lefeguards, nurses, physicians, and therapists or for those who want to learn more in-depth info than our basic Adult/Child CPR course. Certification is valid for two years.

  • Standard First Aid Course - This National Safety COuncil training teaches you to learn the skills to prvent, recognize, and provide basic care for injuries and sudden illnesses for adults and 
    children until medical personnel arrive. Certification is valid for two years.
