The West Suburban YMCA has been an integral part of the Pickleball community in Newton for years, with three courts available at the Church St location and now an additional 6 courts available at the new Wells Ave location. We love how passionate, dedicated, and welcoming the Y's pickleball players (picklers) are and can see through their active involvement why we are called "The Pickleball Hub".

According to The Sports & Fitness Industry Association's 2023 Topline Participation Report released this week, there is a vital element lacking in many of America's largest metropolitan cities: enough court infrastructure to satisfy pickleball demand. In addition, over 70 percent of pickleball courts are temporary in nature. Picklers at the West Suburban YMCA play on indoor courts with multiple court and location options, truly making it a year-round "hub". Drop in pickleball play is offered 7 days a week, along with seasonal leagues and clinics. Now we just need a nationwide poll to see if the majority of players prefer "picklers" or "pickleballer". What is your vote?
