Sports Youth Leagues | West Suburban YMCA

Youth Sports Leagues

Our leagues offer children a safe and positive environment, supportive coaches, and new friendships while they learn and improve their skills. We put your child in the game with children their age/skill level as they learn sportsmanship, develop their skills and gain a sense of accomplishment, no matter the outcome of the game. Each program utilizes the Y’s seven principles: everyone plays, safety first, fair play, positive competition, family involvement, sports for all, and sports for fun.

4-6 players recommended.

Why play 3 vs 3?

  • On average, a 3 on 3 game will give a player 150% more shots, moves, passes, and possessions compared to your typical 5 on 5 games.
  • Improve your movement with & without the ball.
  • Players are forced to rely on their own instincts and abilities, which facilitates quick growth & development.
  • No coaching helps kids make decision and learn on their own.
  • Emphasis on fundamental skills & helps Increase your game reps.
  • It is difficult to hide in 3 on 3. Every player is important and accountable on both offense and defense. Players can go almost the whole game without touching the ball during a 5 on 5 game.
  • FUN and COMPETITIVE
