Meet our Staff

Jack Fucci

President and CEO

The West Suburban YMCA welcomed Jack as its President and CEO in September of 2014.  He joined our Y after serving as Executive Director for the YMCA of Greater Boston and leading the Y’s in Brighton and Waltham, MA. Jack has 30 years in the health, wellness and hospitality industries, 15 of which have been in the YMCA movement.  He has led volunteer boards and staff teams that have resulted in significant organizational growth in membership, philanthropy, partnerships and community impact.  In his time with the Y, his accomplishments have included building the first standalone teen center in Brighton, launching an inclusive health and wellness program that serves individuals of all abilities and creating a Martin Luther King day of service event that supports families living in shelters. 
Jack is leading our new strategic planning initiative. In his short time here, he has led an aggressive period of fundraising and reinvestment that has resulted in the resurgence of our resident camp, Frank A. Day, in E. Brookfield, MA as well as membership and participation growth at our Newton facility.
Jack has a deep commitment to inclusion and community service locally and nationally. He is involved with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission Advisory Board, City of Newton Children’s Cabinet, YUSA CEO Strategic Planning Advisory Committee, Newton Rotary and the Newton/Needham Chamber of Commerce.

Trevor Williams

Vice President of Operations

Trevor joined the team here at the West Suburban YMCA in September 2015 after a long career working for the YMCA of Central Massachusetts. As the Head of Operations for our Y, Trevor is focused on the experience you have each time you visit us.  He oversees the Facilities, Marketing, Membership, Aquatics, Wellness, Sports, Family Services and Creative Arts departments. In addition, Trevor manages Newton Corner Place; our 28 room, single occupancy resident hall. Trevor would tell you he enjoys discussing the operations of the Y with members and staff.  He likes to try new ideas and experiment in small ways to improve the Y experience. Trevor managed and led the recent renovations completed in 2016. When meeting Trevor, you come away feeling his energy, passion and enthusiasm for our Y and sense his passion to continue to develop the staff and programs we offer.   


Kim Benzan

Senior Program Director

Kim first joined us in 2004 as the Sports and Recreation Director.  She left in 2006 to spend more time with her family. Kim returned to us at the Sports and Recreation Director in 2015. Recently, Kim was promoted to Senior Program Director.  As such, she oversees Sports, Aquatics, Wellness, Child Care and Creative Arts. Kim holds a BA from the College of the Holy Cross, an MA from Tufts University and a JD from Suffolk University Law School.  Prior to joining the Y, Kim practiced law for twelve years at the law firm of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky, and Popeo.

Laura Snow

Director of Human Resources

As The Director of Human Resources, Laura leads Human Resources practices and objectives that provide an employee-oriented; high-performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards; goal attainment and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.  She oversees the development and implementation of talent management/ human resources policies, as well as plans and services including recruitment, selection, legal compliance, employee benefits, compensation, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, employment practices and procedures, and employee communications and events.

Andrea Osterloh

Human Resources Associate

Andrea (Andi) recently joined the Y community as the Human Resources Associate. She holds her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language and Literature from the University of New Hampshire and worked for several years in Aquatics Safety and Management before making the transition to Recruiting and Employee Engagement. Andi comes to us with four years of experience in Human Resources, most recently working in the Newton Public Schools as the Human Resources Assistant. Andi is passionate about working for an organization that makes a difference in the lives of others and approaches her role with empathy and the drive to make a positive impact. When she is not working at the Y, Andi enjoys reading, sailing, and spending time with her family and friends.  

Emily Flynn

Executive Assistant

Emily joined the Y in the fall of 2018 as Executive Assistant, providing clerical and high-level administrative support to the CEO, Board of Directors and the Senior Leadership Staff. An outgoing, friendly and positive addition to our team, she enjoys the outdoors, watching sports and practicing yoga. Prior to her arrival at the Y, Emily spent five years as the office manager for the women's basketball program at the University of Oklahoma. She earned her BA in sports management and MA in human development and family studies from the University of Connecticut, where she totaled six years working with the women's basketball team as a student manager and graduate assistant.


Amanda Pierce

Director of Aquatics

Amanda began working at the WSYMCA in October of 2006. As the Aquatics Director, she develops and administers a variety of aquatics programming here at the Y. In her spare time Amanda likes to experiment with recipes in the kitchen and travel.
Certifications: Lifeguard Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard, Professional CPR/AED and First Aid.

Kelly Barker

Assistant Director of Aquatics

Kelly started working at the WSYMCA in April of 2014.  She been a lifeguard and swim instructor for 17 years. Kelly has been certified under USA Swim for 13 years and has been a lifeguarding Instructor for 5 years. Kelly started playing in her grandparent’s backyard pool as a baby and has been swimming ever since.  She started swimming on her local town team at 8-years-old and started on a club swim team at age 10.  Kelly continued swimming competitively through high school, but had to stop in college due to a knee injury.  As soon as she was old enough she began working as a lifeguard and swim instructor at her local recreation department, where she stayed until she joined our team. When she is not working at the Y, Kelly enjoys spending time with my family, traveling and going to the beach.

Camping Services

Keri Wood

Director of Camping Operations

Keri joined the YMCA movement as a high school student working in summer camp and afterschool programs with the Y of Metro North. She began her professional career with the Y of Greater Boston where she served in a variety of capacities within the realm youth development, most recently as the Director of Youth and Family Services.  Keri joined the West Suburban team in March of 2015 as the Director of Operations for the Camping Services Branch.   She has a breadth of knowledge of governmental agencies and compliance organizations including the Department of Public Health, Department of Public Safety and Department of Labor as well as Early Education Care and the American Camping Association. 

Stephan Lockney

Camp Frank A. Day Director

Stephan joined the team here at the West Suburban YMCA in December 2017 after 23 years working for the YMCA of Central Massachusetts.  As a career YMCA camping professional, Stephan believes that summer camp offers a unique chance for children to build social and emotional skills that help them mature into thriving young adults. He has a passion for training peers in the industry in staff training, recruitment, retention, motivation along with child development and child protection.  His past work in Central Massachusetts at a camp serving the special needs populations was recognized by the State of Massachuetts as a Distinguished Program and he hopes to continue that inclusive-based work with the West Suburban YMCA and Camp Frank A Day.  Stephan is returning to his residential camp roots and he is exited to learn all the Camp Frank A. Day traditions along with starting some new traditions and programs for campers to enjoy for years to come.

Bill St. Martin

Camp Frank A. Day Facility Manager

Bill joined the Y as Camp Frank A. Day's Facility Manager in May 2017 after many years experience in facility management and construction - ranging from a local Sturbridge campground to construction and contracting companies and roofing/ gutter company.  His vast experience and expertise ranges from building new homes, to electrical and plumbing work, to heating and air conditioning as well as painting and carpentry.  Bill is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of Camp Frank A. Day, our overnight camp in East Brookfield, MA.. Bill is passionate about what he does and loves to work outdoors on a daily basis.


Ben Kaloupek

Camp Chickami Director

After working seasonally at Camp Chickami for the previous 12 summers, Ben joined the full-time Y staff in October 2018 as Camp Chickami Director. In his new role, Ben will be working hard to ensure that Chickami offers the same safe, creative, and engaging programming that it has for over 60 years. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Education from Northeastern University, Ben worked two years as a paraprofessional at the Heath School in Brookline. He holds a License in Elementary Education in the state of Massachusetts and is excited to bring his passion for education and development to all the participants of Chickami this summer and for years to come.

Marie Minardi

Camping Services Registrar

Marie left a successful position with a private company to pursue a career that would employ her passion for supporting youth and families along with her strong background in office management. As our Camping Services Registrar, she is the main point of contact for all camp registration needs. Marie holds a Bachelor's of Science in Marketing with a minor in Business Management from Franklin Pierce University.

Child Care

Georgette Chiasson

Preschool, Youth & Family Services Director

Georgette joined the WSYMCA team in October 2016 as the Preschool and Family Services Director. She comes to us with a Masters in Early Childhood Education. Georgette has an extensive background in the early childhood field as well as the YMCA.  She is accomplished in the areas of curriculum development, Head Start, NAEYC accreditation, professional development and training, parent and community engagement and program transformation. She has worked for The Greater Boston YMCA, Merrimack Valley YMCA and the YMCA of Honolulu, Mililani branch in a variety of roles. She currently serves as the President of the Early Childhood Director’s Collaborative a position she has served in for over ten years.  Her interest include travel, the beach and photography.

Raymond Isales

Out-of-School Time Director

Ray joined the West Suburban YMCA in September of 2017 as the Assistant Director of Sports and Recreation, where he helped grow the Sports Deptartment program offerings. In November of 2018 he was promoted to Out-of-School Time Director, a role in which he develops, implements and supervises an innovative after school program for participants, including individual and group activities with impactful curriculums. As Out-of-School Time Director he collaborates regularly with school administrators, school counselors, teachers and community partners to ensure the seamless coordination of services for all students engaged in the OST program. In his spare time Ray enjoys reading and playing pick-up basketball here at the YMCA.

Christopher Sharpin

Preschool Lead Teacher

Mr. Chris started his teaching career at Buckeye Village at The Ohio State University where he received his bachelor's degree in Human Developmnet and Family Science with a focus on Early Childhood Education. Chris has taught in a variety of school settings ranging from Preschool to Middle School.

Jayme Tabor

Kids Corner Coordinator

Jayme joined the West Suburban YMCA in 2004 and over the years she has seen the many changes that the Y has undergone. Through all these years Jayme has stayed in the position she has loved the most, childcare! She is passionate about working with children and looks forward to coming to work each day. Jayme graduated from Lasell College with a Bachelor degree in Psychology and is hoping soon to become EEC certified. In her free time she enjoys reading, painting and hanging out with her very outgoing daughter.

CPR & First Aid Training

Phil Wong

Training Coordinator

Phil has been with the Y since 2005, starting in our Welcome Center. In his current role as our Training Coordinator, Phil provides the CPR and First Aid training for all YMCA staff, as well as community members. Phil is a certified Massachusetts and Nationaly Registered Emergency Medical Technician who also works on a 911 ambulance for the City of boston. Phil has over 39 years EMS experience. He is also a certified instructor through the American Heart Association, National Safety Council and the American Red Cross.


Sara Pollock DeMedeiros

Director of Development

Sara joined the West Suburban YMCA in 2017 after holding leadership roles with non-profit organizations serving youth and families across the state.  As Director of Development, Sara is responsible for the planning, coordination, and management of all aspects of the association’s fundraising efforts, and aims to foster a culture of social responsibility that helps keep our Y open to all. Sara received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University and Master of Education from Harvard University.  She is a Newton native and is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the community.

Aidan McDonough

Development Associate

Aidan has been involved in the Y for almost his entire life. From attending camps, to being on the swim team, to tutoring for the Y in college, the Y has always played a role in Aidan’s life. As the Development Associate, Aidan helps assist the Director of Development in the numerous projects their office is responsible for in managing the growing need for program funds. He has a strong passion in providing support for communities. Aidan is originally from the Greater Buffalo Area and earned his BA in Communication at the University of Pittsburgh with a Certificate in Public and Professional Writing.

Chris Meyers

VP of Finance

Chris joined the West Suburban Y team in September of 2015 looking for new challenges. He has over 30 years of YMCA work experience in various roles involving the Y movement. He most recently held the position of Chief Financial Officer for the MetroWest YMCA in Framingham for 11 years. Chris is passionate about technology, constant systems improvements, enhancing the member experience and staff development. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics from Northeastern University. Chris grew up in Brighton and as a teen would often play in basketball league games here at the WSYMCA. Today his free time is dedicated to family, cycling, hiking and weather permitting, having fun at the beach.

Kristen Hydinger

Member Systems Manager/Staff Accountant

A member of our Member Services staff for two year, Kristen has taken on a new role here at the WSYMCA as Member Systems Manager/Staff Accountant in the Finance Department. Kristen will use her existing knowledge of our member management system for guidance and training to users of all the Association’s operational software to ensure timely and accurate transactional and accounting data.  She will conduct onboarding training all new full-time employees to ensure basic knowledge and workings of the system. Including in this role, she will also assist with implementation of and compliance with financial policies and controls. In order to ensure continuity and ease for our members in applying for financial assistance, Kristen will continue to manage and process all financial assistance applications through the Finance Office.

Vadim Melamud

Staff Accountant

Vadim joined the WSYMCA in September 2014 after working for Whole Foods Market as the Accounting Department Team Leader for eight years. He graduated from the University of Odessa, Ukraine with a degree in Economics and Newbury College in Brookline, MA with a degree in Accounting and Business Management. Vadim is a Professional Driving Instructor in his spare time and enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and helping his teenage daugther with her school life.

Health & Wellness

Jane Carroll

Health & Wellness Director

Jane has been the Health and Wellness Director at the West Suburban YMCA for over 10 years. She's responsible for overseeing the wellness center, personal training program, group exercise schedule, medically based wellness programs such as LiveSTRONG at the Y and other youth, adult and senior health and wellness programming. Jane graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science Degree in  Dietetics and a Master of Science Degree in Exercise Science and Physical Education. She's a firm believer that being healthy and fit is a lifestyle that consists of a balanced combination of good nutrition and regular exercise. She loves to personal train and teach group exercise classes. Janes is currently teaching indoor cycling and bootcamp programs.


Jenni Plym

Assistant Director of Health & Wellness

Jenni took on the role of  Assistant Director of Health & Wellness in October 2017, after having been a long-time YMCA member, and personal trainer. While still a personal trainer here,  Jenni supports program development, hiring and supervision of fitness staff, community relations, collaborations, and financial results. Jenni was born and raised in Florida; she  completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Francisco State University, and has a diverse professional background that includes preschool teaching, dance, massage therapy, craniosacral therapy, yoga and oil painting. From a young age, Jenni was inspired by healthy food and movement, and amazed by what the human body can accomplish. The common threads of her diverse professional undertakings have always been health, wellness, personal growth, communication, community, and creative self-expression – all traits she sees in abundance at the West Suburban YMCA. She is excited to bring these passions to our Health and Wellness department, staff, members and guests.

Marketing & Communications

Lisa LaVallee

Director of Marketing & Communications

Lisa joined the West Suburban YMCA in 2009 after holding marketing communications positions at an ad agency, a higher education publishing firm and a number of local performing arts organizations. She joined the Y just prior to a national rebranding effort and heads up the design and production of our advertising efforts, our printed materials, this website and our social media presence. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, hiking and reading.

Meghan Missett

Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications

Meghan joined the West Suburban YMCA in February 2018. She has a great deal of experience and passion for working with community-driven organizations like the Y. Before joining the Y, Meghan worked with a number of nonprofit arts organizations including the Brookline Arts Center in Brookline, MA and Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, a theatrical outreach program in Bozeman, MT. Meghan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a concentration in Creative Advertising from Lasell College.

Member Services

Brittany Martinelli

Membership Director

Brittany joined our Y in March 2018 as Membership Director. She manages the Membership Department - including the Welcome Center. Brittany brings with her YMCA experience from the Greendale YMCA, Manchester YMCA and most recently the MetroWest YMCA where she worked as a Training and On-Boarding Director within the Schools Out Program. She holds her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science from Southern New Hampshire University. 

Samantha Dolat

Assistant Director of Membership

Samantha started at the Y in the Welcome Center and in 2018 accepted the full-time position of Assistant Director of Membership. In this role, Sam will be championing the new member experience and assisting in refining and enhancing our membership retention efforts. Sam’s impressive background encompasses a hybrid of social work, fundraising, and volunteerism.

Kelly O'Keefe

Member Services Coordinator

Kelly joined the Membership Department in January 2018. In her role as Member Services Coordination, you will see her at the Welcome Center where she focuses on excellent customer service for our members and guests. Kelly also focues on community outreach, member appreciation and special events.

Music & Creative Arts

Kevin O'Connell

Music & Creative Arts Director

Kevin leads the YCCA – YMCA Center for the Creative Arts and teaches music lessons, songwriting and recording workshops, Rock Bands and other group classes. In addition to his educational leadership role, Kevin heads up all community outreach, program design, events and productions. He graduated from The College of Saint Rose with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Industry and has been teaching music for over 10 years.

Jesse Trepiak

YCCA Instructor

Jesse has been a music educator for over 10 years. He teaches guitar, bass and voice. He also teaches Video Production, Music Production and Photography for the YCCA. Jesse grew up in Rome, New York where he got his start as an instructor at the local YMCA. While completing his high school education he managed a private roster of students, taught classes in music theory and performance, and played in several pit bands. Jesse received a bachelor’s degree from the Berklee College of Music concentrating on performance and composition. 


Chris Ellison

Director of Sports & Recreation

Chris comes to us from the YMCA of Greater Boston where he recently served as the Director of Youth and Families in Charlestown. Chris carries a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Missouri Valley College and a Masters Degree in Sport Management from Lasell College. Chris has extensive experience in the sport industry, including playing for the Missouri Valley College Football Program. He brings a friendly, high energy approach. He will work to continue to build relationships and build strong programming for our community through our core values of respect, honesty, responsibility, and caring.

Joshua Downes

Assistant Director of Sports & Recreation

Josh joined the West Suburban YMCA in December of 2017 as the Sports Coordinator, and was promoted to Assistant Director of Sports and Recreation in November of 2018. Josh is assists in the development, implementation, expansion and evaluation of youth and adult sport programs. He works directly with our participants teaching sports classes and coaching teams, and he also helps manage the day-to-day administrative operations of sports programming. Josh has a Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Management from Springfield College, where he played Division III Basketball for four years. His experience as a coach includes coaching High School Varsity and Junior Varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball, as well as boys’ soccer.
