Reopening With Care

We're excited to reopen our Wellness Center beginning July 6! Some updates and changes have been made around the facility in order to comply with Governor Baker's Phase 3 Reopening Guidelines.

Wellness Center Information

Members Only: The facility will be open to West Suburban YMCA members only upon our initial reopening. No guests or nationwide reciprocity members will be permitted at this time.

New Layout for Equipment: To promote social distancing and allow for plenty of personal space, we've moved and rearranged equipment in several areas.

  • Stretching Room: The free weight area is now located in the stretching room.
  • Spin Studio: Please use this space as the new streching room (Mats are not available - please bring your own).
  • Gymnasium Court B: Cardio equipment including elliptical machines and rowing machines are located here.
  • Cardio Deck: The cardio deck been rearranged and spaced out. Some equipment or machines may be unavailable.

BYOM (Bring Your Own Mat): Some training items have been removed from the fitness floor, including mats and ropes. If you need a mat, please plan to bring your own.

Studio Spaces: The Dance Studio, Studio A, Auditorium, and Racquetball/Squash Court are only available for personal training at this time.

Group Exercise Classes

Outdoor Fitness Classes

  • Limited to 9 participants (West Suburban YMCA members only), plus 1 instructor to comply with state restrictions on gatherings.
  • Reservations are required to attend an outdoor class. Register here.
  • You can sign up for a class no more than 24 hours ahead of time and up to 1 hour before the class starts.
  • You must check in at the Welcome Center prior to the start of the class.
  • Masks are encouraged but not required outside as long as participants are socially distanced. Masks ARE required inside the West Suburban YMCA building when you check in.

Live Virtual Classes

Not ready to return to the Y in person yet? Virtual classes are held in realtime on the Zoom platform by the Y instructors you know and love. To join a virtual class on Zoom, visit our group exercise schedule and click the title of the virtual class you'd like to join. This will expand a description that includes the Zoom link to connect to the class.
