City of Newton Indoor Mask Mandate Effective September 2nd

Aug 30, 2021

New citywide mask mandate in Newton, MA will take effect Thursday, September 2, 2021. In light of the emergence of the highly contagious Delta Variant and its impact on our community, the city of Newton has imposed a mask mandate for indoor spaces starting Thursday, September 2, 2021.

Per the emergency order, all people must wear a mask or face covering that covers their nose and mouth when in any indoor space accessible to the public, regardless of vaccination status. For more information, visit the City of Newton's website.

How Does This Effect the West Suburban YMCA?

The West Suburban YMCA continues to follow all CDC, state, and local guidelines and recommendations regarding face masks.

Per the city of Newton's emergency order, our facility will begin requiring face masks for ALL who enter our building starting on Thursday, September 2nd.

Exceptions to the mask requirement include those who are in the pools and children under the age of 2 years.

At this time, this is the only change to our current COVID-19 policies and procedures. Please continue to check our website and email newsletters for the most up-to-date information.
