Join us for a poetry reading with Alexis Ivy and Matthew Sisson, members of the Workshop for Publishing Poets, directed by Barbara Helfgott Hyett, followed by an Open Mic. Alexis Ivy’s poems have most recent appeared in Spare Change News, Borderlands: Texas Poetry Review, J Journal, and The Worcester Review. Her first poetry collection, Romance with Small-Time Crooks, was published in 2013 by BlazeVOX [books]. She is sending out her latest manuscript, Taking the Homeless Census. Her poetry has been featured in Boston City Hall and on the MBTAShe is a Street Outreach Advocate in Cambridge, working with the people who are experiencing homelessness. She lives in her hometown, Boston.

Matthew Sisson’s poetry has appeared in magazines and journals ranging from the Harvard Review Online, to JAMA, The Journal of the American Medical Association. He has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, and he is the former poetry editor of the trade journal Modern Steel Construction. His first book, Please, Call Me Moby, was published by the Pecan Grove Press, St. Mary’s University, San Antonio Texas in March of 2015.
