Join us for a poetry reading with Matthew Sisson and Eileen Cleary, members of the PoemWorks community, followed by an Open Mic. Hosted by Richard Waring, rwaring@nejm.org.

Matthew Sisson’s poetry has appeared in magazines and journals ranging from JAMA, The Journal of The American Medical Association, to the Harvard Review Online. He has been nominated for a Pushcart Prized and his book Please, Call Me Moby was published by the Pecan Grove Press, St. Mary’s University, San Antonio, Texas. He is the former poetry editor of the trade journal Modern Steel Construction, and has read his work on NPR’s On Point.

Eileen Cleary holds MFAs from Lesley University and Solstice. She’s twice a Pushcart nominee. Her work is published or upcoming in Naugatuck River Review, J Journal, The American Journal of Poetry, West Texas Literary Review, Incessant Pipe, and Sugar House Review. She co-founded and hosts the Lily Poetry Salon and is Editor-in-Chief of the Lily Poetry Review, and Lily Poetry Review Books. She is passionate about poetry’s ability to transcend human suffering. Her first poetry collection, Child Ward of the Commonwealth, was published by Main Street Rag Press in 2019.
