Community Donation Drive for The Second Step

In celebration of MLK Jr. Day of Service, the West Suburban YMCA is partnering with The Second Step to offer our community an opportunity to give back!

Gift Card Donation Drive for Families of The Second Step
Collection Dates: January 17, 2022 - January 28, 2022

Kicking off on MLK Jr. Day of Service, the West Suburban YMCA is collecting gift cards to support clients of The Second Step. The types of gift cards that are most encouraged are those that allow clients to make purchases on their own and cover a diversity of needs, such as:​

• CVS, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, etc.
• Grocery Stores (i.e. Market Basket, Trader Joe's)
• Gas and Transportation (i.e. Uber, Lyft)
• Visa or Amazon

To participate, please purchase new gift cards of any amount and drop them off at the Y's Welcome Center between January 17-January 28. You do not need to be a YMCA member to participate in this donation drive – All are welcome to contribute!

About The Second Step
The Second Step is a community of survivors, advocates, and volunteers who foster the safety, stability, and well-being of those who have experienced domestic violence. They provide comprehensive services, including safety planning, legal advocacy, counseling, peer support, transitional housing, and other essential services to adults, youth, and children in Greater Boston and MetroWest.
