Wells Ave. Y Campaign

Are you fundraising? If so, how much? 

We are in the early stages of a $5 million fundraising campaign. We are hopeful our investment, and that of our lead donor, will inspire others to join us in supporting the health of our entire community. 

You already bought the building. Why are you fundraising now? 

Typically, a fundraising campaign of this scale can take many months or even years to plan and implement, but we knew that the needs that the Wells Ave Y will address won’t wait. The availability of the property at 135 Wells Ave, a building perfectly suited for a new Y, was a once in a lifetime opportunity. A $3 million donation from a local family sealed the deal and enabled us to move forward. Now, we look to partners to share in this critical community investment.  

What will funding support? 

Contributions to this campaign will allow the Y to thrive more quickly and focus our resources on innovative strategies that support working families, nurture young people’s social-emotional development, develop community partnerships, and foster healthy habits across the lifespan.  

The strength of any one of our locations contributes to the success of our entire Association. Contributions to the Wells Ave Y Campaign will truly support the West Suburban YMCA at large, including the Church Street Y and our summer camps.
