Virtual Ugly Sweater 5K

The Y community hit the ground running earlier this month, participating in the Virtual Ugly Sweater 5k! Donning ugly holiday sweaters, over 60 participants ran, walked, or hiked the 5k distance from both near and far – as close as right here in Newton and as far away as Colorado. 

The event was the Y’s first ever virtual race, and participants completed the 5k any time between November 29 until December 6.  Participants raised over $1800 for the YMCA's Annual Fund, providing financial aid to children, adults, seniors, and families so everyone can use the facility, participate in programming, and attend childcare and summer camps.
