Be good to your heart this Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day! February is American Heart Month. Here are some tips to keep your heart healthy - in more ways than one!

Get Physical: Being physically active every day is fun and can improve the function of your heart! Find a friend to make the exercising double the fun!

Take a Snooze: Make sure you get some good sleep! Lack of sleep can be associated with elevated cholesterol and blood pressure.

Shape Up Those Recipes: Make easy changes in the kitchen, like reducing trans fat and sodium and increasing Omega-3s. Enjoy sweets (like Valentine candy!) in moderation.

Feeling the Pressure: Lowering or maintaining normal blood pressure can greatly reduce your risk for heart disease and stroke.

Play Together: Spending quality time together as a family is a great way to reduce stress levels, which is important to heart health. What better way to spend Valentine's Day than being with the ones you love?
