Three Ways to Give Back This December

It is not an understatement to say that 2020 has been a year unlike any other. Despite all the challenges, our community continues to rise to the occasion to support one another. So in the spirit of giving, here are three ways you can make a difference this giving season!

1. Donate Hearty Soups to our Food Drive

We know our community has a big heart... That's why we're collecting hearty soups for the Newton Food Pantry! Help us reach our goal of collecting over 150 cans of soup by December 18. Look for the collection box in the Y lobby to donate your canned soups.

2. Fulfill a Holiday Wish - Support Our Neighbors in Need

This year has been a difficult one for our community. We have asked families experiencing financial hardship to share their holiday wish list with us. You can help by pledging to fulfill a wish using this digital sign up form. Make the holiday season a little brighter for local YMCA families!

Please return unwrapped gifts to the Welcome Center or have them sent directly to 276 Church Street, Newton, MA 02458 (attention to Giving Tree) no later than December 16th. For more information, please contact Marie Minardi.

3. Give Our Community A Safe, Outdoor Alternative for Staying Healthy & Active

This Giving Tuesday, help us raise $3,500 to support an extra month of the tent on our track and field! For those who feel less comfortable entering the building to workout, our tent has become an important resource allowing many in our community to continue

their health journeys.

This small corner of our Y has had a huge impact by giving our members an outdoor alternative to their normal exercise routines. Can we count on your support this Giving Tuesday? Every dollar donated to the West Suburban YMCA stays local and makes a lasting impact. Your gift will help us continue to create a stronger community for all.
