Out-of-School Time (K-8)

The West Suburban YMCA Out of School Time (OST) program is committed to making a difference in the lives of every child and family who choose the Y for out of school care. OST provides learning experiences that are engaging and developmentally appropriate, focused on social and emotional growth, and emphasize self-confidence, self-esteem, and leadership, while also encouraging independence.

Program Enrollment Options

Enrollment is ongoing and children may register any time of year, provided there is space in the program.

Full Day Program 7:45 AM - 5:00 PM
NEW Half Day Program 2:00-5:00 PM (M, T, Th, F); 12:30-5:00 PM (W)

To register, fill out the appropriate enrollment form (Full Day or Half Day) and return to kaitlinm@wsymca.org.

The following enrollment options are intended to support distance learning and complement the Newton Public Schools' academic schedule. Our new Half Day option is structured like our traditional Out-of-School Time afterschool program. Options are subject to change pending modifications to the Newton Public Schools schedule.

Wednesdays at the Y

The Newton Public Schools' new half day is on Wednesday. Students will experience the traditional OST program on scheduled half days, giving them the opportunity to participate in clubs, enrichment activities, physical activities and the option to sign up for Y lessons (martial arts, track & field, music, swim lessons, etc).
