Camp Pikati | West Suburban YMCA

Day Camp at the Y

Camp Pikati

Ages 3-13

1-week sessions
Weekdays, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Camp Pikati (pike-a-tee) means “camp across the Pike!” Campers participate in a variety of age appropriate and fun activities. Each week campers have fun filling their days with traditional camp games, sports, arts and crafts, swimming, relay races, archery, and camp-wide special themes! All activities are run by trained counselors who model the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Since 2019, the West Suburban YMCA has been a meal site for "Summer Eats," Massachusetts' federally funded summer food program. Summer Eats provides free lunch and snack to any child under the age of 18, and Camp Pikati campers are encouraged to take advantage of the free lunches.

Parent Feedback from Camp Pikati's 2020 Season

"My son wakes up early everyday and is so excited to get to camp. He enjoys himself at the Y and comes home with so many stories and is so energized by the social interaction. It's just what he needed after this extended quarantine. Most importantly all of you have planned so well for every contingency and ensured the safety of our kids during this pandemic."

"I wanted to send a quick note of thanks and encouragement to the staff at Camp Pikati. My kids are in their 3rd week of camp this summer, and they couldn’t be happier to be back. After such a challenging spring for everyone, this is just what they needed."

"My son has been loving camp and the counselors are amazing! The camp and programs have provided him a safe way to interact with other kids which has been incredibly beneficial for his social and mental well being. He is a totally different person when he comes home, happy and relaxed!"

"Thank you for a wonderful and creative summer! He had a lot of fun, and we are so grateful for the relative normalcy he got to experience through day camp during such challenging times."

"Thank you all for the incredible job you're doing. We weighed the pros and cons of a week at Pikati in relation to the virus and all that. I'm glad we chose to do it... my son has had a great time. You guys have done a great job with precautions as well, I feel safe sending him there."
