World's Largest Swim Lesson

The West Suburban YMCA is a host facility for the World's Largest Swimming Lesson which takes place on Thursday, June 21, 2018!

Now in it's 9th year, the World's Largest Swimming Lesson was created to build awareness about the fundamental importance of teaching children to swim to help prevent drowning - which is sadly the leading cause of accidental death for kids between the ages of 1 and 4.

As a host, we aim to provide kids and parents exposure to life-saving water safety skills and build awareness about the vital importance of teaching children to swim to prevent drowning. The WSYMCA is joining Team WLSL™ in their mission to spread the message Swimming Lessons Save Lives™ to one billion kids and adults by 2019.

We are offering eight FREE swim lessons throughout the day:

  • 9:15-10:00
  • 10:15-11:00
  • 11:15-12:00
  • 12:15-1:00
  • 2:00-2:45
  • 3:00-3:45
  • 4:00-4:45
  • 5:00-5:45
