In this picture, you can start to see the work becoming pretty messy and the new piping being installed.

In this picture, you can see the first two sections of the new balancing tank.  When complete, it will have a total of four sections and stand nearly 15 feet tall.  This tank will holds 1,000 gallons of water.  It looks a bit like a submarine, don’t you think?  This tank is what ensures that the pool water does not overflow onto the deck when people get in it.  Like your bathtub, the water level rises as you submerge.  Same thing occurs with pools.  If 20 people submerge themselves into the pool, this tank keeps the water balanced and provide a location for the overflow or newly excess water.  Once those people leave the pool, the water is automaticially put back into circulation.

Have you seen the small pool lately?  As you know, the pool has been closed for about two weeks to complete an infrastructure project that we are very excited about.  This long overdue project is replacing the main filtration piping as well as replacing the balancing tank.  Both the old lines and tank were in need of upgrading.  These upgrades will improve the water filtration quality and put aside the potential for unplanned closures and basement flooding due to tank failure.  This entire project is a proactive measure to avoid any unwanted surprises.

We are investing about $60,000 into these upgrades and appreciate you accommodating our project.

The construction work should be done by the end of this week.  Then we will refill the pool, balance the chemicals and heat the water.

If all goes as planned, we should have use of the pool again on Friday, 1/19/18.
