Out-of-School Time Programs

Now Enrolling for the 2017-2108 School Year

Grades K-3

This is a fun, structured and safe after-school program. The program combines recreational activities with small and large group learning. Our qualified staff provides an exciting balance of active games and creative projects. Daily activities include: recreational games, arts & crafts, active and quiet play, homework time, free swim (two times per week).

Limited transportation is available from the following Elementary Schools:

  • Bowen

  • Cabot

  • Franklin

  • Horace Mann

  • Lincoln-Eliot

  • Underwood

Grades 4-8

Your child is becoming more independent, but may not be ready or want to be home alone after school, which is why we created an after school program specifically for kids in Grades 4-8.

Our staff offers supervision and support, but your child makes his own decisions and chooses her own activities. Each activity is designed to help your child develop and grow into a responsible teenager and adult. Through our programs and staff encouragement, students stay active both physically and mentally after school and become more independent as the school year progresses.

Activities offered include: quiet homework time, music studio time, computer time, games (pool, foosball, ping pong), Wii, free swim (two times per week), active play and organized games in the gym or on the New Balance Track & Field.

Please Note:

  • Our Out-of-School Time programs follow the Newton Public School calender. On Early Release Days, transportation is still provided for our younger students and the program opens at 12:30 pm.

  • A current West Suburban YMCA Youth or Family Membership is required for participation (more information on Membership).

  • Financial assistance is available and can be applied for on a confidential basis. Please download the Financial Assistance Application and return to Kristen Hydinger in our Member Services office. For more information, contact Kristen Hydinger
